Reservations and Deposits:
How do we reserve our Beach Wedding?
Simply call us at 850-650-1515 to check our open dates — all ceremonies are booked by phone ONLY (we do not accept reservations by email). We accept all major Credit Cards, Debit cards, Check, or Money Orders and we will reserve your wedding date and time as soon as we receive your deposit.
When is payment expected?
A deposit is required at booking to reserve your date. This deposit is deducted from your package price. Payment in full is due anytime but no later than 30 days prior to your ceremony date. No refunds of deposits or of payments in full.
Getting Married on the Beach:
Which locations do you cover?
We are a mobile wedding company and will come to your location . . . hotels, condos, beach houses, state pavilions. For more private ceremonies when getting married on the beach, you may want to consider one of the State or County Parks in Destin, Ft. Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, Navarre Beach, Pensacola Beach, Perdido Key and Panama City in Florida. See our Areas of Service page for full listing of beach wedding locations.
Do we need permission for a ceremony if we are getting married on the beach?
All of our beaches are public; however we do recommend that you ask the hotel, condo, beach house if it is ok if you hold your beach wedding there. Most properties are wedding friendly. For those planning Florida weddings on a budget, it is important to note that some properties charge a fee to use their beach for a wedding ceremony.
Can we use our own Officiant or Minister?
Yes, many brides bring their own Minister as long as they are ordained in any state. In Florida, you may also have a Florida notary officiate your nuptials.
Can we bring our own decorations?
NO — All State Parks and beaches require licenses, liability insurance, and Special Events Permits for those holding weddings on the beach. We hold the requisite yearly permit, business license, and insurance. By using Sugar Beach Weddings, LLC for your ceremony, you are covered for your special day.
What is the Seashell Ceremony?
After the wedding ceremony is complete, the Minister/Officiant will ask all the guests to pick a shell from the wedding seashell basket. Everyone will go to the water’s edge, make a wish or say a prayer for the newlyweds, and throw the seashell in. Our professional photographer will be on hand to capture this special moment.
What is the Sand Unity Ceremony?
After the beach wedding ceremony, the couple will be asked to pick up some sand from where they stood as they said their vows. They will simultaneously pour this sand into a beautiful heart-shaped glass container, symbolizing their newly joined lives. This becomes a precious wedding keepsake!
Receptions:
Do you do receptions?
We do not do wedding receptions. However, we are happy to make recommendations for a place to host one — just ask us!
Helpful Idea: If you are getting married on the beach in the Destin, Florida area, we recommend the Solaris — a beautiful ship that cruises the Bay. They can do a full dinner and offer live entertainment. Visit www.sunquestcruises.com or call Steve at (850) 650-2519.
What about something for a smaller reception?
For Florida weddings on a budget, please refer to the vendors list you will receive after scheduling with us. We have noted several reception ideas and locations on this list.
Cancellations and Rescheduling:
What if we need to cancel?
We do understand that things may happen to prevent you from having your beach wedding on a day that was chosen months in advance: under certain circumstances, we will reschedule your wedding ceremony within one year from your original wedding date, giving you credit for money already paid.
